Kevin, I've written 4 times that I wrote that sentence wrong, in haste, how many times do I have to write that?
"The WC12's used the identical cab as the 1939 civilian V,T and W trucks." The word missing was "stamping", as in identical cab stamping. The 1939 T series cab was the basis for all Dodge WC, WDX and other cabs to follow, up to 1947, even the WC53. There were many minor variances and changes and different sheet metal details but that statement was not "WRONG" Why the capitol letters, apparently you get a lot of glee in that and cartoons? Since all but a few military trucks were 4x4, I pointed out that the firewall is a good place to look to tell a civilian from a military, but not always. VC's and WC's used the same cab stamping again with minor variations. You put way more words into my mouth than I spoke. As for shifting topics, your mention of hood latches had nothing to do with the cab in Terry's picture, the discussion was of the cab only, there are dozens of differences with hoods, cowls, fenders etc., there was plenty of topic shifting to go around, I know what I meant in my post, my writing didn't come out the way that I intended and then words that I did not say were put in my mouth that I didn't mean. I incorrectly assumed that most reading would get my point, I obviously underestimated.
Looks like everyone is expecting to receive an apology for getting most everything wrong. It is what it is.
