I bought a bushing/seal puller from VPW back in 2000. I can pull the seal/bushing quicker than it took to type this post. I have never had it fail to pull them. I dont remember the price, but it was not out of question. I have used it on all my trucks and some of my friends trucks.
If you plan to blast the axle housing, the media will infiltrate into the housing no matter how much you think you masked it off.
However if your going to blast, remove the 3rd member, remove the knuckles and blast away. Then be ready for ardus and repeated cleaning with solvent inside the housing, using swabs. It takes a LOT to get all the media out. Rebuild the knuckles while they are apart. Almost guaranteed they have worn bearing/race (lower) and worn race/bushing (upper).
Or Gunk the housing, knotted wheel wire brush on a angle grinder and clean her up that way.
