Aligning Transmission Cover and Forks

This WAS going to be the weekend that I finally started the Carryall for the first time. Unfortunately when I tried to start it I found that the transmission was stuck in a gear. I couldn't move it so I took the floor out and pulled the top. Now I'm trying to figure out where the gears and forks should be when shifter is in neutral. Does anyone have a good trick in lining up the gears and forks when the transmission is in the truck? Thanks.
