What you have into a truck (or a house) and what it's worth are two completely unrelated numbers.
I don't quite believe that he needs space in his shop. From the looks of it, he has a huge shop and plenty of room to add onto it. The only reason to sell a project that close to completion is if you're hard up and gotta have the money right now.
