I just can't resist! Same reason they STILL use the garbage V8 starter design that was junk in '57! GM's bottom line has always been maximum profit at minimum investment. Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/Desoto bottom line has always been Engineering Excellence regardless of cost...
