The Military assigns its own numbering system to vehicle parts which is refered to as Military Stock Number or Ordnance Stock Number (OSN). Over the years the OSN has changed to the Federal Stock Number and now the National Stock Number adding addditional numbers to the number scheme each time. CC# stands for Chrylser Copration part number.
Most MV part guys don't need these numbers if you tell them what vehicle the part is for. So if you call and say "I need a steering gear housing cover gasket for an M37, they know what you want. Some find it helpful to have the number if they deal in a large variety of vehicles and parts.
They won't be able to tell you what Military parts work on the PW, you have to tell them the Military part you need, and which one of the 14 Military vehicles the PW part will interchange with. Unless you know which vehicles, including the Sherman Tank, Half Track, CCKW, and which part from each will work, finding parts is a lot harder.
