The canister always holds oil after running. doe your pressure guage work? if showing good pressure at the guage you know there is no blockage at least to NO. 3 main bearing. A cold blooded Dodge may not get warm enough in 5 minutes to heat the oil? The oil passages do not run very close to any of the water passages. They are well below the water passages. You could pull the plugs and fittings on the side of the block and check for blockage with a coat hanger or welding rod. see pic 2
