Marty. My understanding is that the ratio of car weight to spring is the reason why lighter vehicles need shock absorbers and heavier trucks don't. The lighter vehicles have lighter springs which give to the movement more easily than the stiffer springs of the bigger trucks. My W300 had no rear shocks when I bought it, and when I put shocks on it I noticed no difference at all. I will try to call you this weekend about our earlier emails. Jerry
