Good information from Tom, and Vaughn's PIF. Keep in mind that not only are many ignition parts different between the 251 and 230 engine, but also with the 230 you have differences in parts between the 12-volt and 6-volt systems. If that is not enough, you also have differences between parts used within each of these systems. For a quick glance at what the differences in parts are that were used just within the 6-volt systems used on the 230 engine, see the link below.
