Hi Dana:
Where did ya take your training at? Was it private sector stuff (mine)? I used to love driving the tag (chase) vehicle. It had a turbo charged, fuel injected 350, with a reenforced front end on a Caprice. YEAH BABY! I never got to use it and was bummed, kinda.
Yeah, they never cease to amaze me, supposedly intelligent people. Then again, my sister in law has a PHD, and not a lick of common sense. Our Durango came with 17" Goodyear Wrangler's. I only had 300 miles on em when I replaced em. THEY SUCKED when it was wet.
They were the Wrangler road tire, not the all terrains. All it had to do was be wet and you'd slip & slide all over the place. Went with the Yokomama's next. They weren't much better in the rain, and only a little better in snow. Forget ice.
Now we have the Kumhos. They handle great in all types of conditions, BUT, they're a little better than the rubberband tires, low profile. Same height as the Goodyears, but lower than the Yoko's. I like a little more meat when I go over things. Still, on ice, ain't much that works. HA!
Once when I was plowing snow, I hit an ice patch. Knew I was screwed as soon as I hit it. Fortunately, the only thing in front of me was a 12' high chain link fence, and I knew if I tried anything, it'd just put me in a spin. I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. HA!
