Sorry...seems like this has been covered a couple of times but I didn't see it in the archives. Local shops can't get the self-locking thread-type tappet adjusting screws and I've got an otherwise good running engine that starts to sound like a threshing machine a couple of hours after adjusting the valves. Tried the high-temp locktite-it helps a bit. Tried the green, same thing. Cotton thread helped keep them tight for awhile too. Apparently these are threaded a different pitch (?) than the female threads but are soft and should be replaced each adjustment? Anyone know sources or tricks.
