I been gonna ask this question for a while now. I am seeing a lot of trucks with the engine # on the title. I myself would consider the serial # in side the door as the "VIN" of the vehicle. What happens when you dont have an original engine still in your truck and the Txxxxxxx # on the title is not in/on the truck?!?! I would think a state inspection if purchased out of state would catch this and not allow the truck to be registered?!?! A big problem to deal with after the purchase.

Is there records at Dodge that shows that a certain Txxxxxxxx # is goes with a certain truck/serial #? Something to verify that the truck has an original engine?
