I use a Terry Cloth (in Bozrah), to protect the straps from any rubbing action, and rust, or bolt threads etc.
I usually look to criss cross the straps to prevent side to side shifting of the load. that means getting the strap on the wheel side of the leaf springs. Wrapping a towel around the axle and the pack of springs.
DOES ANYONE SEE A PROBLEM WITH THIS IDEA???
One of these days, if it does not effect the axle, I would like to shape, and weld on a wrap around large eye hook that the strap hooks can hook onto.
Sorry no photos.
