It will use fuel, probley around 1.5 to 2 gals a hour. Engine is designed to run at 2,500 RPMs so it will be plugging along at 1,800 rpms. I might belt it up so it can run at a slower rpm cause I only need around 55 HP for 30KW max output. It will have a 40 gal fuel tank so it will last a while. Most of our power outages last 3-5 hours but in 10 years I have seen it out for 1 1/2 days max here. On the coast side I have seen it out over a week before and that sucks! It will also serve to store gas and I will keep my 5KW for those summer or short outages when freezing is not a problem. Mark H.
