Don't you have the sled issue backwards? A 10,000 pound block should only take 5000 pounds to pull. We (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) do a bike race every year and have an event where we drag a 100lb chunk of rubber along asphalt to test various for design flaws. Even with the high resistance of rubber/asphalt we only need 80lbs to pull it. If we use steel skids its closer to 40lbs.
