Hi Folks!
I'm putting a rebuilt carb on my 53 M37. My old carb is Ball & Ball, but doesn't look like the ETW1 picture with the side opening/choke in a verticle position which then does a 90 degree turn down into the rest of the carb. The old one just has a horizontal opening at the top (no 90 degree elbow) and the air cleaner has just been clamped onto it (and always falls off too).
Well, I took the old carb off and put the new/rebuilt one on. Choke and fuel lines hook up easy, but the throttle cable connection point is a lot higher than the old one was.
Is there a special part I need for this, or do I just go to the hardware store and get an extension for the connecting rod ends?
I see in the VPW catalog that I need an air cleaner elbow too. My air cleaner just has a hose clamp attachment but the air cleaner elbow won't mate with that. Is there another part in between? Or do I have the wrong air cleaner?
