I use to have a set for the old F250 Ford that I had in Alaska. On hard pack snow and ice they work good. On one occasion I had them on the truck for 4 days straight while working in Whittier. On another occasion while working up at Healy and the Parks Hwy was a sheet of ice, they were on the truck for three days. Once you get the hang of putting them on, they go on a lot easier then regular chains. Of course nothing beats regular chains for durability. But for what you need them for, cable chains should work just fine.
