There's a lot of great country to explore around here, and it's one of the few places where there's real wilderness that still has a road through it. Some of the ridge roads are absolutely amazing, especially in the fall when the leaves are turning and the huckleberries are ripe. I call it "truck hiking" because in any other part of the country, there'd just be a hiking trail along the ridge, not a road. You can drive a long ways along the Idaho/Montana state line and rarely see anybody except in hunting season. The ridge roads are probably impossible in the winter even in the Tucker, being steep and completely drifted over, though perhaps a person could just go off-road up and down along the ridge line rather than try to follow the road.
