Door and Kick pannel question

I am finishing my kick interior door panels and recieved great repro ones from Midwest Military for my ffpw. Question/opinion: what color to paint them- I know originally they were gloss black. What colors have others painted theirs (same as body color or other color)? Also, what kind of authenic phillips screw should I use to attach them? Thanks!
