... and see what a real tree looks like. We still have a few left, despite my grandfather's best efforts to let the daylight into Oregon. I can't find the picture of him hauling a 1-log load (actually not one whole log, just one little 40' chunk of what was probably a 200-300' log) out of the Tillamook burn in 1938 or if him standing on the 4' diameter top of a 100' tall "stump" (spar tree) he'd just topped, so here's a picture taken at the Weyerhaeuser high camp up above Molalla somewhere showing what it took to get the big sticks out of the woods in the old days.
