I guess my 64 year old eyes need a little more help in the dark Idaho nights, especially with all the deer and moose that like to cross the road when you are least expecting it. The "fog" lights on my '06 Dodge Ram are pretty wide and flat, and when I have them on without the other lights, they only hit the pavement about 75 feet ahead of the truck. I like the benefit of illumination of the shoulder of the road, and use them a lot. 70% of my night time driving is with minimal oncoming traffic, but I will be more alert to the potential problem they might bring to oncoming drivers. I always thought the rare person who flicked on his brights was irritated because he was in some small car, with his eyes at the same level as my headlights. Thanks for the input. JH
