Most of the time I'm writing queries against SQL tables and putting the results in a presentable format (charts). Very little end user interface type development, just lots of custom metrics on a case by case basis.
I do appreciate database admins who name tables in readable/common sense ways. Makes life much easier.
Sometimes I get to sit on process improvement teams, which gets me away from my desk, but even though I pass the HMMWVs we retrofit everyday, I don't get to turn any wrenches.
