its cast iron and the waterpump mounts higher. supposedly it is a very good mount and dave sexton did a conversion in his m37 using this timing cover. it is designed to support the front of the engine in a similar fashion to the flathead. i have the complete mounting setup too. anyone interested in using it for a poly conversion? i had it beadblasted and a new crank seal installed in prep for doing a poly conversion in my command car. i stuck with the flathead and now its surplus to my needs.

i also have the centered one point mount for the front of a poly engine too. it mounts the engine to the truck frame in the front center.
