Rear engine mount on pw vibration damper

Have any of you tried putting a rubber cushion beetween the bell housing and frame? I added a 1/4" and it looks like the transmission was raised enough to change the drive line angle alot. I may cause clearence problems in other places too but it would help if there was some extra padding.
