I built a new 251 engine from a NOS block, standard bore. It is balanced, with custom cam, head milled .080, HV oil pump, GM electronic distributor from Langstons, full flow oil filtration, and a header/intake I built myself with 2 bbl carb. I also have 2 1/4 exhaust through a Magnaflow muffler. It sounds very healthy and I get comments on the engine all the time. I found that I had to go to cooler plugs after I milled the head as I kept burning the electrodes off.
I am running 1100 x 16 tires with stock gears, although 50 mph seems to be the sweat spot I run at 55 all day and have more if needed to pass. I am out of town for the next week but I can post pictures if you are interested when I get home.
