My buddy wants my help putting together a Diesel WC-11 Panel.

He bought the panel a few years ago out of KS, paid $3,500. In pieces, it is complete,
and in fair condition.

He wants to get a later model Dodge Cummins 3/4 ton 4x4, and place the body on that chassis. Of course this will require cutting the firewall, and whatever else....

My concern with going this route is the wider track on the newer Dodge makes for a usually ungainly look that many converted FFPWs get and wider/offset wheels are used.

I have mentioned and toyed with the idea of trying to use the original chassis, axles, and a 4bt, etc, but I am not so sure about the frame strength of the half tons. I hate to see such a rare truck get hacked, but he has plenty $$$ and does not care so much.

He is a veteran custom car painter/body man, who currenlty does ALL the body/paint work for the San Antonio Ferrari/Maserati Dealer, they send it directly to him. He has done ZZ Tops cars, Bugatti, vitage Ferrari, so the finished project will be exceptional.

Any input, suggestions are appreciated. HE is ready to get started now, so I am searching for a Donor Dodge Cummins 4x4 regular cab 12V, 5spd, or Frito Lay truck.
