Anyone know what spline count was used in the Dana 70-U ?

My buddy is looking for a locker for his 1989 3/4 ton with a Cummons Diesel. He was told it has a Dana 70-U, not sure what the "U" is. If he can avoid pulling it apart just to find out if it's a 32 or a 35 spline, it would be one less this to do before buying a locker.
On the locker note, any opinions on what lockers are good in these trucks? this may be like a "oil" question and I'm opening the doors. I have the "Loc-right" in both my 52 FFPW and 91 Ford 1 ton. They work good, but bang your drive train ( u-joints, splines, etc) around more than I'd like. ( the ARB locker run was not out yet when I did mine)
