Good to see you posting again... hang in there, things get better.
I need to swing by some time and say hi, since we live relatively close to each other.
On your fuel pump question... have you done a post-mortem on the pump after you remove it? Any visible damage, or do they seem to be failing internally?
Electric pumps are ok, but if you can keep the mechanical going, that would be my first choice.
