Sometimes on the face of the dash, at least once on the upper surface of the dash. I have also seen several on the firewall.
Of course I am talking about 2wd trucks here, but the military would most likely have used the same locations for all the trucks, 2wd, 4wd, etc.
I may even have some pictures of military tags if I look around enough.
