Tell me one thing, does the pickup turn over when you try to start it? I have had the similar problem on my 72 powerwagon. What I would do, since you got new pieces get a new battery (or keep a constant charge on the old one if there is any liquid in it). If this does not work, then go to the distributer. Is the cap cracked? Are your points set right? I found that on mine, if the points are not set right, you get no fire. Try to look at the wires going to the spark plugs, are they all corrosive? If so than there is your problem. If all else fails, then I have been no help but try one more thing, prime it to see if the pickup will try to jump at the chance to get started, then your firing is good and you will have another problem.
