I did not dip the frame, which would get inside and clean everything, but instead went with sandblasting like you. What I did is I blasted up inside the crossmembers as much as possible, then blew them out with compressed air, then I sprayed Picklex up inside to convert any rust and leave an iron phosphate type coating to help resist rust. Some would then spray something like zero rust with a shutz type set up inside the members, but I did not do that. I simply shot epoxy primer up as far as possible with a conventional hvlp gun.
