OT - Diesel or JP-6?

Did some searching on the internet but couldn't find an answer. I'm pretty sure one of you guys will know though.

My nephew recently bought a very low-hour military diesel compressor. At the price he got it for he couldn't pass it up. It has a Hatz diesel engine. The equipment is stenciled "JP-6" on the gas tank.

Will this thing run on pump diesel or is he going to have to fuel it with kerosene?
