I pulled apart several 3rd members this weekend that I have picked up over the years and kept in my shed, I found them all to have excessive wear or broken teeth on the pinions. But, that's not why I'm writting this.

Question: I found one that uses cap head screws ( bolts) instead of studs and nuts for holding on the side bearing caps. Is this a year change and if so, is it a better set up or just six of one / half dozen of the other??
