The Stellite valves in the A engines are however are much harder than the head material and the valves do not burn, they just sink deeply into the head.
This is only a problem on the exhaust ports.
When I rebuilt my A motor I just went with a good 3 angle valve job, the destructive nature of installing hardened seats into the head didn't seem like a good way to go.
