I agree, electric valves are a slick way to go, but costly. I went with the manual valve strictly due to cost. I have .250" rods coming off the valve handle; one going into the cab, the other goes right to the winch controls up front. Both have nice 2.0" knobs.
I can run the winch from the cab while driving or local control up front. Since there is no PTO to shift, you can toss the hook on someone at 60 mph and winch them in ha ha. Go to www.milemarker.com and select the hydraulic winches. These are all driven witht he PS Pump. They show nice pictures of the electric valve setup.
