Usually, you can leave the pin and arm (cam follower) in place and unhook the rod that works the diaphragm by pushing it in a bit and then towards the outside end of the pump housing. Getting it back on, with the new diaphragm is slighly harder, but it's mostly a matter of learning the "feel".
