That's the obvious question, but the LDT/LDS multifuel diesel engines were designed to not rely on lubricity of fuel. The government specs say they can run on any mixture of gasoline (other than av-gas, probably because of the lead), #1 or #2 diesel, or JP-4. I've been told that it's also possible to run on straight alcohol, should you happen to have a supply of it. I know the injector pump is oil-lubricated via the engine oil. I'm not sure what they do with the injectors. Personally, since I always have some used motor oil or gear oil around, I figure it can't hurt, and it might help, to throw a little bit in the fuel tank when running mostly gasoline.
