I live here in the North West (Vancouver British Columbia) have always found that just installing the rear window and gasket alone is not enough to stopping the rain water from finding its way into the cab. On the other hand I have always been reluctant to install sealant as my overriding philosophy when working on these old trucks has always been "build it to take it apart"; that being said when I next start playing with the rear window (hopefully sometime before the start of the rainy season) I will use a sealant of some form as there is noting worse than finding a pool of water sitting behind the seat slowly rotting out the floor around the cab mounts.
Best of luck Peter
