Well, I almost made a mistake, well I guess not almost I did, but before it could be a problem I corrected it. You see when I planned out the home and shop, to keep the bills together; I planned the house and shop to be on the same meter/feed. Well I forgot to think about the effect of the voltage drop over the ~350' run between the house and shop. So before we laid and buried the cable I switched to a separate feed and meter on the shop. It will run me at least an extra $10 a month and a little more for the initial installation but I'll have a good voltage 200 Amp panel in the shop, and excess amperage available at the house (400 Amp).
Now to my question that that lead up to. Lighting in the Shop. I tend to not like Fluorescent, as the light out put fall of and pain in replacing the bulbs. I also don't like the strobe effect that it can have on power tools.
So what do you recommend for lighting in the shop? It's 54' x 48' x 14'
Thanks,
Will
