They weren't "assaulted" by US gunboats. The Coast Guard is SUPPOSED to protect our borders. We should dig a frigging moat between Mexico and but them there. At least one part of our gov. is doing it's job.
If Cuba shared a land border with us, they'd be pouring over just like the Mexicans and our government would allow it too. They're no different. Granted, it takes more risk but alot of the Cubans in Miami have little to no respect for our country.
We don't turn back the land-based invasion because our government wants to combine the countries.
