Center floor pan

Someone educate me here, is the center floor pan, (tranny cover) inside the FFPW a different height on the later PW's that have the syncro trans. ? As I recall the hole for the stick shift is located differently?
I have put a V8 and a NP 435 into my 52 and it seems the tranny cover could be a little taller.
