I would doubt that dual 9.00x16 tires and wheels would have any effect, either negative or positive, on the load carrying capacity of the axle housing, as the axle housing carrys the weight, not the axle shafts. However, axle shafts that are turning double the mass may have a shortened life expectancy. I wish I knew how to calculate the force applied to wheel bearings carrying any given load on single wheels in the stock location verses duals creating a wider stance. Under the wrong conditions, the outside dual can be carrying all of the weight and must then be exerting tremendous leverage on the bearings.
