Steering column replacement

I got my power steering setup in last week from Ray Suiters for my danish WM300M. It took abouth a year to get here, but apparently Ray is still planning on moving to the East so I know he had other things on his mind). Now I'm planning to replace the original column with a more safe and practical collabsable/tilt type. Would a car setup be beefy enough? Any sugestions on what type or brand I could use? Since I'm from Belgium, a European or Jap (Toyota FJ?) brand would probably be the cheapest, unless a Jeep or late model Chrysler/Ford/GM model would do the trick. If you did the same, let me know what you used or what things I should look out for.
