I entered a street stock truck pull last night with my 64 Townie. It was a very "casual" pull as in very little in the way of checking trucks and weights. So I'm in the 5500# street stock class with a dozen other trucks. I'm the seventh puller and the oldest truck of the entire 45 truck field in all classes. The crowd loved my Townie as I pulled in line on the track to stage. I watched the first pullers which are all newer than '99 trucks, two of which are GMC's with 454's set up for pulling. The best pull was 250' so I hook up and grab on to the transfer sled with everything I've got in first gear low. I pulled for all I was worth to a distance of 219' which was better than 4 other trucks in the class. It was quite a rush and although I didn't have a chance against the big blocks, the crowd was behind me as I drove off. I was very proud of my truck and the showing it was able to make. There was also a Ramcharger in the same class that did about as well as I did so the being the only two Dodges we did our best to hold up our end of the night.
