The engine model is a 8v71. It made 318hp@2250rpm.So most guy's just calledthe 318's. Was a real horse in them day's for a "POOR" MAN. Prior to that you had a 6-71,or other makes.
The RTO 9513 would make that motor come alive.
The cadilac of transmissions was the RTO 9513 back then, because you could split shift the last three gears like a two speed rear end.
You started out in "low" first,shift all gears,switch to high, go back to first and start again,then could split between Hi,and Od on 6,7,8th gear.
I loved them old "detroit's" with a thirteen speed.,ha TGP
