Hello.
I have my 1990 W-350 gas truck with a TBI 318 in it, that the EFI is giving me fits! I plan to haul it home soon and try what I can to diagnose it. If I cant get it diagnosed soon, I will pull the TBI off it, and put a carb on it. I like the EFI expecially in winter, but I need a running truck, and now. My question is..the TBI injected 318's and 360's used thru 1991 have a fuel pump block-off plate in the side of the block. Can I put in a push rod and mount a mechanical pump? or is there not a eccentric on the cam to run one with it? Will I have to go aftermarket electric pump? I know GM TBI engines do not have eccetric on cam to run a mechancial pump, I was wondering if the Mopar does just to make it easy on me. Thanks for your input.
