Marvel is a lubricant/fuel/water displacement oil/rust inhibitor/and cures shingles, don't ask me how it works...it's a mystery....
It is good for coating parts and preventing oxidation, but how long term depends upon a few environmental conditions. I have "bagged" motors for 3-4 years coated with Marvel, in a fairly dry and clean environment, and they were fine. If your climate is damp or humid (like here today!) and you have a dirt floor, a hole in the roof and you are storing for years, you may want to wipe the parts with lithium grease to lessen exposure to the air. Otherwise Marvel will work fine.
