THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
EXTREMELY HOT WEATHER WILL RETURN THIS AFTERNOON. EVEN THOUGH IT WILL NOT BE QUITE AS HOT TODAY...TEMPERATURE WILL STILL REACH DANGEROUS LEVELS.
THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS. NEVER LEAVE PEOPLE OR PETS IN ENCLOSED VEHICLES...EVEN BRIEFLY.
