I can't see a well oiled engine freezing at only 8 months. I ussually dip the pistons with rings loaded on them in a coffee can of oil before knocking them in. pour oil allllooovver everything as you go, it takes 2 quarts to assemble a motor. But then, only one I ever did sat for long, about a year? Small block chevy, no problem.

How long of a cheater are you using to try turning it? A couple feet?
