This applies to all kinds of businesses. I often think that I would like to try a new venture, only to find that there are almost insurmountable legal and regulatory obstacles, and unless your great-grandpappy started the business, any profits will be realized far into the future, if ever.
Most new, small businesses fail. (I think the statistic is 80% within the first few years.) It's usually because of the cost of money, taxes, insurance, govt regulations, paperwork BS, and other unforeseen expenses.
As a sideline, among friends, it might work out to your advantage, but friends suddenly become enemies when the stuff hits the fan.
Nothing ruins a good friendship like doing business.
